Senior Software Engineer (.NET/Azure/Terraform) | f/m/d

What you will do

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (.NET/Azure/Terraform) to develop our GDS (Geo Data Services) also known as SAFIR which provides geospatial and map functionalities including geocoding, location information, rate and map services.

How you will get the job done

• implementing the technical SAFIR architecture at the component-level with restful APIs (scalable microservices) based on C# .NET Core, hosted on Azure Functions
• developing and maintaining performant solutions using SQL Databases for configuration and business data
• maintaining Microsoft Azure Infrastructure (Function Apps, App Services, Scale Sets, Virtual Machines, etc.) via Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform), not only for SAFIR but also for third party applications (i.e. ArcGIS)
• implementing the features and change requests for development and maintenance including requested analysis and design activities and required documentation
• implementing small enhancements in the project/product scope
• performing bug fixing with a zero-defect mindset and test-driven development
• carrying out code reviews via pull requests
• creating the necessary unit and component integration tests to ensure compliance according to MR specifications

Requirements

• fluent spoken and written English
• 5+ years of proven experience in developing backend services with C#/.NET (.NET Core preferred)
• good knowledge of MS SQL database
• experience with Microsoft Azure Infrastructure (Function Apps, App Services, Scale Sets, Virtual Machines, etc.)
• expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Azure DevOps, YAML based CI/CD pipelines
• ability to grow on challenges in a demanding environment
• strong communication skills, high degree of customer orientation
• being an active member of an Agile, cross-functional team developing software for innovative business products

Nice to have

• experience in role-based access control (RBAC), data encryption strategies, monitoring and logging as well as alerting
• knowledge of PostgreSQL database and the Post GIS
• experience in the development of technical architecture with a view on built in data security and optimized performance
