The role

You will join our Financial Crime Product Development team as a Software Developer or Senior Software Developer (Java).

Working in a small, autonomous agile team, building and maintaining backend services that are part of a large, enterprise-grade platform used by global banks and making a real difference to the impact of fraud and financial crime. 

Note: you will work on site in our dedicated We Work office in Warsaw 3 days per week. 

Your work will include:

• Designing and developing backend services in Java
• Improving performance, reliability, and scalability
• Investigating production issues and delivering long-term solutions
• Working with large data volumes in distributed systems
• Collaborating closely with other engineers in your team

The role level (Software Developer or Senior) will depend on your experience and technical impact.

What we’re looking for

You have experience building and running production systems, and you are comfortable working independently on complex problems.

You have:

• Strong experience with Java in backend development
• Experience with distributed or cloud-based systems
• Good analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving
• Experience working in agile development teams
• Clear and practical communication skills

You also have experience with, or interest in, some of the following technologies:

• Spring Boot
• Kafka (or other messaging systems)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• SQL databases
• Monitoring and observability tools (for example Grafana)

Experience with Python, TypeScript, Angular, Spark, Elasticsearch, or StarRocks is a plus, but not required.
