Senior PHP Engineer (Digital Commerce & Pimcore)

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Developer to drive the evolution of complex e-commerce ecosystems. In this role, you won't just be 'coding to spec'—you will act as a technical consultant, translating intricate business visions into high-performance digital realities. You will work across a variety of premium platforms, ensuring that every line of code contributes to a scalable, enterprise-grade architecture.Location: 100% Remote (Europe-based).Tech Stack focus: PHP, Symfony, Pimcore.Environment: High-collaboration squads (devs, QAs, Architects, and Stakeholders).Focus: Quality-first, SOLID-driven, and test-heavy development.ResponsibilitiesArchitecting Solutions: Lead the technical discovery phase by analyzing business needs and designing the blueprints for platforms like Pimcore and modern commerce engines.Engineering Excellence: Deliver sophisticated features while maintaining strict adherence to PSR standards and clean code principles.Quality Governance: Take ownership of the codebase through rigorous code reviews and the implementation of comprehensive unit and integration test suites.Strategic Advisory: Act as a technical bridge between the agency and the client, providing expert insights and guiding technological choices.System Optimization: Manage and optimize containerized environments (Docker) and complex data flows using message brokers.RequirementsExperience: 4+ years of professional mastery in PHP and the Symfony framework.Pimcore Expertise: A proven track record of successfully deploying and maintaining Pimcore-based applications.Software Design: Deep-rooted understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, and the SOLID acronym.Infrastructure & Data: Hands-on proficiency with Linux/LEMP stacks, relational databases (MySQL/Postgres), and version control (Git).Modern Tooling: Comfort working with Elasticsearch, Docker, and asynchronous processing via RabbitMQ.Communication: Fluent English (B2 or higher) for seamless collaboration in an international setting.Bonus Points:A strong background in the E-commerce sector (Magento/Shopify experience).
