Senior Data Analyst

Day rate contract Hybrid role based in Dublin city centre, 2 days a week. About the RoleAs a Senior Data Analyst within the Data Strategy Team, you will shape and deliver high quality data solutions that drive data-led decision making. Reporting to the Data Strategy Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into robust data products and clear, actionable visualisations. You will take ownership of projects from scoping through to delivery, operating with a high degree of autonomy while championing best practice in data preparation, governance and security. Working in a modern Azure-based environment, you will use advanced SQL, Snowflake, Power BI and ETL tooling to build and optimise scalable data pipelines, improve database performance and strengthen the organisation’s overall data infrastructure.Team BackgroundThis role sits within our Data Strategy Team, part of the Customer Solutions Commercial & Analytics Department, and reports to a Data Strategy Manager. The team uniquely combines IT, Actuarial and Data expertise to lead the way with innovative solutions that empower stakeholders to make timely, informed, data-driven decisions to enhance customer experience and drive business growth.Main ResponsibilitiesEngage with stakeholders to gather feedback, develop / improve dashboards based on evolving needs, and clearly communicate insights.Optimise Power BI and Tableau visualisations while supporting team members.Present data in a structured format that highlights trends.Understand business problems and work with partners to define the best solution.Advise stakeholders on direction of infrastructure projects.Design, build, and deliver high-quality data solutions.Identify data sources and gaps.Optimise queries and monitor database performance.Key RequirementsAn IT, Data Science, Actuarial or Mathematical based 3rd level degree or relevant experience.Experience in analytical and programming tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.Hands-on experience designing and querying Snowflake data models.Knowledge of AI and machine learning fundamentals.Good communication skills, with the ability to present data insights effectively.Capability to work on own initiative in a demanding environment.An ability to plan and organise work, communicate progress and meet deadlines.Experience in data modelling and data analytics.Knowledge in database structures and concepts.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.Nice to HaveFamiliarity with machine learning algorithms.Experience in cloud services, particularly Azure.Proficient in JIRA workflow tools.Other DetailsPosition offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model with opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.
