Senior Backend Engineer

You will design, develop, and unit test robust APIs and backend services using Java EE. From time to time you will also get the opportunity to make smaller contributions to our Angular based frontends.
You are part of an empowered and self-contained team to collaborate with architects, testers, product managers, and other multi-functional teams to deliver top-notch solutions.

Backend: In-depth experience with Java programming language is essential. You have built your own and integrated thirdparty APIs before and therefore, you are well aware of the toolbox that Java EE provides for doing so.
Databases: Proficient in MySQL, or similar technologies.
Testing Frameworks: Strong knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainer, REST assured or related tools.
Build and Deployment Tools: Experience with Maven and Docker. Great if you heard about Kubernetes.
Architecture: Solid understanding of RESTful principles, with experience in distributed systems and Microservices being advantageous.
Agile Methodologies: Proven track record in Agile development processes.
AI Skills: You are confident working with GitHub, Copilot, and modern prompting methods, and have a basic understanding of LLMs to help shape AI features in a meaningful way.
