We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist (m/f/d) to join our R&D team focused on Downstream Processing (DSP) of recombinant proteins. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of purification processes for nanobody / antibody-based therapeutic proteins, contributing to the advancement of our biopharmaceutical pipeline.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments for purification of recombinant proteins
• Analyze and interpret data to guide process development and troubleshooting
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other RnD teams
• Contribute scientifically to the project progress, lead project discussions and development
• Develop scalable and robust DSP processes
• Author technical reports, protocols, and regulatory documentation
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in protein purification

Your expertise and ideal skill set

• PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Structural biology or related field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in DSP of recombinant proteins in an industrial or academic setting, preferably with focus on nanobody and antibody expression and purification
• Background in immunology or coagulation is a plus
• Strong expertise in chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, HIC, SEC), ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and process scale-up (optional)
• Experience in DSP analytics – SDS PAGE, Western Blot, SEC-MALS (optional)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, project management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Proficiency in English as well as confident usage of MS Office
