Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

Your Role

With us, you have the opportunity to perfectly combine your studies with practical experience while actively contributing to exciting projects. This allows you to gain valuable skills, expand your network, and grow both professionally and personally.

  • Develop processes using test samples for high-precision optical components
  • Plan measurements on test samples according to the specifications provided by R&D scientists (f/m/x)
  • Coordination of the execution of experiments by laboratory technicians (f/m/x)
  • Operate robotic optical polishing systems
  • Independently perform all required measurements using various methods (e.g. interferometry and atomic force microscopy)
  • Independently analyze measurement results in relation to the specified parameters using suitable evaluation software.

    Prepare results in a suitable format (e.g. PowerPoint presentations) and discuss them with R&D scientists (f/m/x)

Your profile

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in physics, chemistry, materials science, nanoscience, optics, or a comparable natural science or engineering discipline
  • High level of personal responsibility, combined with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Enjoy experimental work, working with precision measurement equipment, and performing quantitative and statistical data analysis
  • Good command of both German and English (written and spoken)
  • Previous laboratory experience is an advantage
