Data Curation and Automation Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Data Curation and Automation Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a technology company that provides marking, tracking, and printing solutions. The perfect candidate is:A hands-on Python engineer who is comfortable writing scripts daily.A problem solver who can break down ambiguous tasks into clear, executable steps.Someone with a full ownership mindset, equally comfortable with manual precision work and technical automation.RequirementsProficiency in Python for the purpose of data wrangling and automation.Solid understanding of control structures, file I/O, and data structures.Experience with parsing and programmatically manipulating complex, nested data formats (JSON, XML).Familiarity with essential Python libraries: Pandas, NumPy (data manipulation); os, JSON, XML (data handling), PIL (Pillow), cv2 (for image processing workflows).Strong ownership mindset and accountability for data quality and delivery.Ability to decompose complex problems into structured solutions.High attention to detail, especially when working with large datasets.Strong organizational and communication skills.Hands-on experience in data annotation is a significant plus.ResponsibilitiesAnnotate diverse data types (images, videos, text) with exceptional accuracy.Collect, curate, and prepare datasets from various sources.Develop and execute Python scripts for data verification, data transformation, cleansing, and pre-annotation/post-annotation tasks.Create and maintain meticulous documentation to track all managed datasets.Manage and prioritize tasks across multiple concurrent research projects in a highly dynamic environment.Effectively communicate project status, manage stakeholder expectations, and adapt to shifting priorities.Develop clear annotation guidelines for internal tasks and external vendors.Perform rigorous Quality Checks (QC) and provide constructive feedback to ensure data integrity.We offerUS and EU projects based on advanced technologies.Competitive compensation based on skills and experience.Flexibility in workspace, either remote or our welcoming office.Bonuses for article writing, public talks, and other activities.Free tech webinars and meetups organized by Svitla.Regular corporate online activities.Awesome team, friendly and supportive community!
