Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)

We are in the middle of a real infrastructure transformation.We are moving away from a operations-heavy setup toward a modern platform model where development teams own their services - and infrastructure becomes repeatable, automated, and predictable.This is not just a “keep the lights on” DevOps role.You will have real ownership over architectural decisions and platform standards.What your day looks like:You’ll work in a small, experienced engineering setup with daily standups and close collaboration with product and development teams.Your work will include:Designing and evolving AWS infrastructure (ECS, RDS, VPC, S3, WAF, CloudFront, Cognito, API Gateway, etc.)Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform / TerragruntDesigning and improving GitLab CI/CD pipelinesImproving observability (CloudWatch, Datadog)Acting as infrastructure partner for development teamsProposing architectural improvements aligned with compliance and business needsParticipation in on-call duty (24/7 once a week for approx. 5 weeks)Currently, part of the team operates in maintainer mode - but the goal is clear: automate and reduce repetitive operational work.Tech stack:AWS (ECS, RDS, CloudFront, WAF, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Backup, ElastiCache, Route53, Cognito, API Gateway)Terraform / TerragruntGitLab CI/CDDatadogWho are we looking for? 🕵️‍♀️Strong hands-on AWS experience (multiple services, real production exposure)Solid Terraform experience (Terragrunt is a plus)Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesAt least 5 years in Infrastructure / DevOps / SRE rolesHigh ownership, strong communication, transparencyNice-to-have:Experience in regulated environments (e.g., PCI-DSS)Exposure to platform engineering conceptsExperience with Datadog, Snowflake, KafkaAbility to write production-level code in at least one languageYou will do well if you:Communicate openly and early when something blocks youTake initiative instead of waiting for instructionsCare about long-term maintainability over quick fixesCan operate in multiple contexts and prioritize wiselyWhy this role is interesting?You will shape platform standards from the ground up.You will work in a regulated AWS environment (PCI-DSS) — rare and technically demanding.You’ll influence architecture, not just execute tickets.You’ll help transition the organization toward a modern platform model.You’ll have room to experiment - within safe compliance boundaries.This is a role for someone who wants to build systems that make other engineers faster.Sounds like a fit?
