JOB DESCRIPTION

DAYWALKER Studios is seeking multi talented Model & Surface Artists to join our full CG feature film production in Cologne.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This hybrid role involves creating and surfacing high-quality sets and props, transforming design concepts into assets that capture the film's unique visual style. Reporting to both the Modeling and Surfacing Leads, the ideal candidate is skilled in both poly modeling and texture/shading, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to address technical challenges independently.

• Create and texture sets and props that reflect the film's design style and vision.
• Develop UV layouts and ensure surfaces are optimized for efficient texturing.
• Work closely with modeling, surfacing, and lighting teams to ensure a cohesive look across assets.
• Integrate feedback and refine assets based on reviews from Supervisors and Leads

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in modeling and surfacing for CG film or animation.
• Strong knowledge of Maya and Substance Painter; familiarity with Zbrush, Substance Designer, and Houdini Solaris and Karma is a plus!
• Strong understanding of UV unwrapping and shading techniques.
• Experience balancing both organic and mechanical design elements in modeling and texturing.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to effective file and asset management.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
