About Faircado -Making re-commerce the new e-commerce

Faircado is leading the way in the sustainable shopping movement, making second-hand the first and smartest choice for consumers across Europe. Our mission is simple: turn the chaotic, time-consuming world of second-hand shopping into a seamless and enjoyable experience that’s better than buying new.

We simplify the search for quality pre-owned items by aggregating listings from trusted resale platforms into one user-friendly experience. By bringing structure to a €200 billion resale market, we’re not just building a product, we’re creating a shift in how people shop.

In January, we launched the first version of our mobile app. It has already been used and loved by hundreds of thousands of people who rely on it to find the best second-hand alternatives. We’re now focused on the next phase of growth, improving the product and expanding its reach.

Our journey so far includes the launch of a browser extension, a growing mobile community, and recognition as Product Hunt’s Product of the Day on Black Friday. We also won Slush 100, Europe’s largest startup pitching competition, and secured backing from leading investors including General Catalyst and Accel. Faircado has been named one of Germany’s top startups to watch, and we’re just getting started.

As our first Senior React Native Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our mobile platform. You’ll work closely with the CTO and product team to design, build, and scale user-centric mobile experiences using React Native and Expo.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience building e-commerce, marketplace, or social apps—someone who understands how to create smooth user flows, optimize performance on mobile, and iterate quickly in a startup environment.

What You'll Do

• Development of our React Native mobile app using Expo

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to define and implement new features

• Build high-performance, scalable components with a focus on UX

  Optimize mobile app performance and ensure quality through testing and CI/CD practicesHelp shape our mobile architecture and development practices as the team grows

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

• 4+ years of professional experience with React or React Native
• Strong experience building mobile apps with Expo or React Native, especially in e-commerce, marketplace, or social domains
• Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand)
• Experience with mobile testing frameworks and automated testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and performance optimization

Nice-to-Haves:

• Background in building or scaling consumer mobile products
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Knowledge of sustainability-driven or circular economy products
• Familiarity with analytics, deep linking, push notifications, and other mobile-native features
