BESS Business Development Manager (m/f/d)

Primary job responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Manager specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to join our growing team. This role is integral to identifying new customer opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving sales growth in the rapidly evolving BESS sector.

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities in the utility-scale and industrial BESS markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project developers, EPCs, utilities, IPPs, and technology partners.
  • Conduct market research to track trends, policy changes, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Lead end-to-end deal structuring, from lead generation through to contract negotiation and closing.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and channel networks to expand BESS market reach.
  • Support project pipeline development by collaborating with engineering, finance, and legal teams.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote offerings and brand visibility.
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy, pricing models, and value proposition development.
  • Work with internal proposal and pre-sales teams to deliver tailored technical and commercial offers.
  • Report on KPIs, sales forecasts, and business development metrics to Sales head.

Professional and personal competences

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, project engineering, or solution engineering, preferably in the energy sector (BESS).
  • Strong understanding of BESS system components: batteries, PCS, EMS, HVAC, fire suppression systems, and integration with renewable energy sources.
  • Professional German and Englisch Language.
  • Excellent technical writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with engineering design tools.
  • Highly preferred the experience in BESS System Integration field.
