But it takes real intellectual leadership and expertise to identify and then harness the AI trends and technologies that will transform the way people travel for good.

We specialize in AI, Generative AI and Generative Design, driving the identification, industrialization and scaling of new technologies in practical applications. We combine openness, pioneering spirit and implementation strength to actively shape the future of BMW.

What awaits you?

• You will take overall technical responsibility for complex, cross-functional AI initiatives - from requirements analysis through to implementation.
• You will independently identify, evaluate and manage AI-related projects.
• Furthermore, you will design and develop end-to-end, scalable AI systems to enable the efficient industrialization of customer projects, with a particular focus on GenAI.
• You will work closely with internal IT units, business departments and cross-functional partners.
• Moreover, you advise business units and management, providing clear strategic guidance and applying systematic thinking.
• You coordinate and manage collaboration with internal and external partners, representing the company in strategic committees.
• You will foster cultural change by coaching, empowering and inspiring colleagues from diverse disciplines and support the evaluation of emerging technologies and contribute to shaping the company's technology roadmap.

Qualifikationen

What should you bring along?

• University degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics or comparable field.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in software development with Python.
• At least 3 years of experience in implementing and industrializing AI solutions, including at least one major open-source framework (e.g. LangChain, Pytorch).
• Strong methodological expertise in at least two of the following areas: Generative AI, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, MLOps or platform development.
• Hands-on experience in data engineering, including building and managing database systems and data pipelines.
• Practical experience in cloud and infrastructure engineering using AWS or Azure, as well as GitOps practices in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in software development best practices such as clean code principles, object-oriented programming, DevOps and testing.
