Senior Procurement Manager

Type of Employment: Permanent

Location: Berlin, Germany

THE ROLE

The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the procurement process within a dedicated Business Unit (BU), ensuring a high-quality and compliant procurement service. This role also includes leading regional or global category strategies in close coordination with the Global Procurement Center. As a strategic business partner, the Senior Procurement Manager supports key business priorities, drives value creation, and ensures alignment with corporate procurement policies and tools.

What you‘ ll do

1. Value Creation

• Enable the business line to secure optimal supplier agreements, balancing cost efficiency and speed to market.
• Drive cost savings and value generation through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.

2. Business Operations

• Collaborate with the Global Procurement Center to leverage global procurement synergies.
• Provide professional procurement support to the BU and ensure sign-off at defined procurement tollgates.
• Ensure early procurement involvement in business planning and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with Finance & Controlling (F&C) to align procurement with business strategies and change initiatives.

3. Process Ownership

• Act as process owner for the end-to-end procurement process within CK.
• Ensure compliance with procurement and HSE policies and procedures.
• Engage with key stakeholders to deliver agreed service levels.

4. Business Partnering

• Operate as a procurement business partner, guiding the business through all procurement phases like Prequalification, Strategy development, RFQ and contract development and Evaluation and negotiation

What we are looking for

Education:

A university degree in a relevant field such as Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering is required; alternatively, significant professional experience in Procurement or Supply Chain may substitute formal education.

Personality:

• Leading and supervising: Comfortable taking initiative, guiding teams, and driving performance.
• Working with people: Builds strong relationships, collaborates effectively, and fosters a positive team environment.

• Proactive and forward-leaning: Anticipates challenges, takes initiative, and drives continuous improvement.

Language:

Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication in an international environment.

IT:

Utilize procurement tools such as SAP Ariba, DocuSign, JDE, and ServiceNow would be a great benefit
