Veli
We are Veli, a fast-growing startup with a clear mission: using energy data to make homes safer. Our AI detects emergencies from electricity and water consumption and automatically triggers help, enabling seniors to live longer and more independent at home.
Leading providers in assisted living and emergency call services already rely on Veli. We are backed by experienced investors and industry experts from tech, energy and care. With the nationwide smart meter rollout, we are seizing the unique chance to scale Veli into millions of households.
As a Software Engineer at Veli, you will directly shape how our product scales. We are looking for someone who brings proven experience, takes ownership, and drives solutions end-to-end. You will work closely with our CTO and product team on challenges at the intersection of IoT, AI, and real-world users.
Depending on your strengths and interest, your focus can be on full-stack feature development or backend/IoT challenges:
You are an experienced and ambitious software engineer who wants to have real impact.
You have contributed to production-ready projects and can point to a proven track record
You are fluent in English (C1+) and have at least intermediate German skills (B1)
You already live in or are willing to relocate to Kassel or Munich
You have an EU work permit
You are comfortable with parts of our tech stack:
Python, TypeScript, Go, React, Next.js, Django, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, Azure, Kubernetes, Kafka, Prometheus/Grafana
In Germany alone, over 6 million seniors live alone. Care systems are under pressure, and loneliness is increasing. Veli provides a scalable, data-driven solution with real impact.
If you want to apply your engineering skills to technology that truly helps people and grow personally and professionally in the process, join us!
