FDM is a global technology consultancy that partners with leading organisations to deliver cutting-edge IT solutions. We are currently looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our client in the financial sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and deliver modern, scalable software solutions in a global, regulated environment.

As a .NET Developer, you will execute on the software development life cycle (SDLC), including estimating, analysis, code design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance. You will implement engineering standards, best practices, and quality assurance procedures while working closely with product owners to translate requirements into technical stories.

Your role includes providing technical expertise to analyze complex requirements and break down features into tasks, ensuring application quality and alignment with technology and product goals, and reviewing and giving constructive feedback on code. You will identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve engineering processes and coding standards.

You will also lead the execution of software solutions, monitor and support tools to ensure software works well in the operating environment, and participate in strategic implementation regarding technology solutions and platform architecture. Additional responsibilities include mentoring less experienced engineers and being forward-thinking on modern technology and the payments industry.

What we are looking for

Essential skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years software engineering experience, primarily Back-End or Full-Stack

• Experience with .NET and Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)

• Experience working with Docker, .NET 6+, C#

• Experience designing and writing robust software for highly scalable, low-latency, event driven, distributed platforms

• Strong experience with object-oriented programming and design, including C# or any other programming languages

• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating with RESTful and gRPC APIs

• Experience with modern architectures and practices including microservices, cloud computing, micro frontends, and domain driven design

• Experience with financial products, specifically payments

• Experience with Jira and Confluence

• Very good English skills (C1)

• Work permit for Germany

Bonus skills:

• Experience in SaaS, Payments, FinTech, or E:commerce

• Experience with IaC, specifically Terraform

• Experience with microservice design pattern, specifically Twelve-Factor

• Experience with document databases

• Experience working with VueJs/React, and Postgres
