Credit Risk Business Analyst – German Mortgages (m/f/d)
You will be the business analysis lead for credit‑risk change and BAU improvements across the German Residential Mortgages portfolio. Partnering with Product, Underwriting, Collections & Recoveries, Finance and Compliance, you’ll translate regulatory and risk‑management requirements into clear epics, features, and user stories, then support delivery to ensure safe, compliant and data‑driven mortgage operations end‑to‑end. You have a strong knowledge of Mortgage back-office processes and regulatory requirements, especially in relation to intensified and problem loan management.
Elicit, challenge, and document business and data requirements for the intensified and problem loan management phase of the customer lifecycle (including post-origination monitoring, arrears/forbearance, default, workout, and recoveries).
Convert business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
Act as a subject matter expert to ensure processes and systems are fit for purpose and consistent with regulatory requirements such as Definition of Default (DoD), IFRS 9 impairment/staging, and forbearance reporting.
Analyse business processes and management information to identify gaps and recommend pragmatic improvements.
Support user acceptance testing and successful implementation of business changes
Delivery Outcomes
Ensure clear and complete business requirements and traceability for mortgage risk change initiatives.
Operationalise regulatory expectations with measurable and reportable compliance.
Deliver credible management information for risk decision-making, with validated data definitions.
Achieve positive assurance during internal and external reviews based on comprehensive documentation.
Stakeholder Management & Governance
Build and maintain effective relationships with key business areas such as Product, Underwriting, Collections & Recoveries, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
Facilitate workshops, document decisions, and ensure traceability of business requirements.
Prepare materials for internal and external reviews, maintain evidence packs, and ensure timely closure of actions with high-quality documentation.
Regulatory Alignment (German Mortgages)
Ensure that regulatory expectations (e.g., MaRisk/KWG) are embedded in business processes, particularly for loan monitoring and workout activities.
Collaborate with Collections & Recoveries to maintain effective early-intervention timelines and ensure clarity between policy and process, including interactions with external partners.
Support the implementation of regulatory requirements into the bank’s processes, ensuring timely and accurate identification of defaulted customers and effective portfolio monitoring.
Your knowledge/experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a business related discipline; relevant BA or risk qualifications are an advantage.
Several years of work experience with regulatory implementation (e.g., MaRisk/KWG) in retail lending, including income information processes and policy-to-process translation.
Familiarity with arrears and forbearance policy/process development and early-intervention service level agreements.
Previous professional experience in a comparable position within the financial sector
Highly analytical approach to problem solving.
Strong project management and delivery skills.
Good knowledge of credit risk-related regulatory requirements.
Fluent written and spoken German and English.
