Upvest is one of the few fintechs in Europe that can provide its B2B clients with the full range of investment opportunities in the areas of principal broking business, proprietary trading, and safe custody business for traditional securities. The company was founded in 2017 by Martin Kassing and currently employs more than 200 people across Europe. Its latest €100m fundraising round (Series C) was led by Hedosophia and Sapphire Venture, with continued support from existing investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Motive Ventures, and Notion Capital.

We currently employ 200+ people across Europe with our headquarters based in Berlin, Germany, and hubs in Tallinn, Estonia, and London, UK. We would consider hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to one of our hubs, we’re happy to support your relocation.

As Europe’s leading provider in the Investment API category, we are scaling our business and product across client groups, markets and products. As Strategy Intern, you will be at the core of our strategic initiatives, working within the strategy team and cross-functionally with our other teams to:

Our Investment API revolutionises access to investment infrastructure. We have worked relentlessly to build the product we have today and are proud to already call Europe’s largest Fintech our clients. As we enter a critical scaling phase, we need to stay laser-focused on our goal: to become Europe’s category leader. Our company strategy serves as the backbone of this focus.

What you can expect from this role:

As Strategy Intern, you will support the Strategy team and entire executive team to shape and execute our strategy—from initial conceptualization to prioritisation, execution and communication of key initiatives. Example projects include supporting our international expansion and uncovering new business opportunities.

Support our organisational strategy as a key enabler for growth and focus

With over 180 talented professionals on our team and continued growth in product, markets, and client reach, it’s essential to maintain a sharp focus, make strategic decisions, and set clear priorities. You will be key to supporting the development and execution of our organisational strategy, including our OKR process, linking our OKRs with core business KPIs, and collaborating across teams to ensure cohesive decision-making and strategic prioritisation. Additionally, you’ll play a central role in supporting our all-hands presentations, preparing senior stakeholder presentations and offsites.

Work cross-functionally to gain deep insights into our business

As a member of the strategy team, you’ll engage in cross-functional projects to gain a comprehensive understanding of our product, clients, operations, and banking ecosystem. Working closely with our Head of Strategy & Chief of Staff and our executive and senior management teams, you’ll ensure seamless business operations. You will gain wide exposure across our business, contributing to high-impact projects alongside senior leadership.

• Ownership coupled with inspirational leadership: As Strategy Intern you will be at the core of some of the most impactful projects at Upvest. From supporting the definition of our company strategy and targets to helping in the execution, you will be a key stakeholder and truly own the outcome paired with inspirational leadership, working directly with our Chief of Staff and the entire management.

Job requirements:

• You have completed at least 1–2 internships in high-growth companies or strategy consulting.
• You excel at analyzing complex problems, breaking them down into actionable insights, and driving measurable outcomes.
• You thrive in cross-functional teams, aligning efforts toward shared goals. You're comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to new challenges.
• You enjoy developing and articulating strategic initiatives, while also diving into the details to ensure flawless execution.
• You're passionate about fintech, eager to learn, and driven to transform the investment world to empower more people to invest.
• You're available for a minimum of 4 months and are based in Berlin.
