The Opportunity

You’ll work on face authentication, our newest verification method that runs entirely on-device. This technology enables users to verify their humanity using just their phone’s camera, expanding World ID access beyond Orb locations.

• Expand: Drive the growth of World ID and World App by building and improving face authentication on iOS, enhancing existing verification methods, simplifying enrollment, and enabling seamless account management to reduce churn.
• Engage: Work closely with our internal ML team to further develop and productionize our face authentication engine, this includes both research tooling and production features.
• Excel: Build core technologies and infrastructure to optimize security, privacy, compliance, reliability, and development velocity for World.
• Extend: Advance an open and decentralized platform for empowering third-party developers to integrate World without relying on proprietary technologies and single points of failure.

You’ll take ownership of key software components; designing, building, debugging, scaling and maintaining them to meet high standards and team objectives.

About You

• You have been designing and developing natively for iOS for some time.
• You have a track record of writing exceptional software, tackling hard problems, and coming up with elegant solutions.
• Experience with camera APIs, integrating native libraries (Rust/C++ via Swift), or on-device ML is a plus.
• Others consistently vouch for your collaboration, prioritization and organization skills, ability to operate in ambiguous and changing conditions, and getting things done.
• You have a demonstrable history of picking up, mastering and applying new knowledge and skills.
• You express yourself clearly, crisply and simply, in writing and in speech.
• Interest in and passion for the domains we work in such as finance, privacy, and digital identity.
