About the Role

Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all statutory and tax reporting and filings for the entities. Responsible for driving continuous improvement of the overall Compliance and Controllership activities for the sites. Must have a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles including practices and procedures related to internal and external audit functions, German and US GAAP. Relies on experience, expertise, and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works independently.

About Your Responsibilities

• Ensure that the business units’ financial results are reported in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with GAAP through periodic balance sheet reviews, communication of current issues and best practice sharing.
• Ensure compliance with Local Country and US Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), local laws and regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Proactive management of internal/external audits and coordination of timely implementation of corrective action.
• Responsible for local reporting including statutory reports, income tax and other statistics. Work with local partners where appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Shared Services Center on month-end closing activities, including trial balance review and journal entry and account reconciliations support.
• Assist project controls group to provide support for the POC accounting and analysis of large projects.
• Support working capital improvement initiatives.
• Generally, champions compliance oversight, driving the control environment throughout the business by monitoring and identification as well as leading improvement of compliance processes.
• Play key role in ensuring the financial area complies with laws and regulations; stays abreast of laws and regulations through professional reading, electronic professional websites and internal counsel.
• Assist in review of technical accounting issues within the site and communicate significant issues or areas of specific concern.

What You Need

• Previous Experience: 5-8 years’ experience in Controllership or Accounting within a Global Manufacturing Company reporting in US GAAP.
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
• Certified Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter).
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HBS), IFRS and US GAAP plus knowledge of German accounting standards and experience with German tax filings.
• German and English are required.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented matrix environment that is fast-paced and demanding.
• Excellent IT skills, with a proven track record in understanding and optimizing finance systems (ideally SAP background).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well under deadlines, to prioritize, to deliver results on time, to constructively challenge, to drive behavior, and to make a good case for change.
