Your tasks

Your Role

We’re looking for a Hardware Engineer who thrives in both deep-tech hardware engineering and hands-on rapid-prototyping in a fast paced startup-environment.

You’ll take or come up with ideas and translate them into testable prototypes that will then mature into series products - translating system needs into schematics, designing and verifying PCBs, and ensuring your designs integrate seamlessly with mechanical and production aspects of our hardware.

This role bridges design, testing, and implementation - ideal for someone who enjoys both engineering rigor and practical problem-solving.

Your mission

  • Analyze system and functional requirements, and translate them into hardware specifications and testable PCB designs
  • Develop schematics and layouts using modern EDA tools
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical design, production, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and manufacturability
  • Build, bring-up, and debug hardware prototypes in the lab
  • Support test development and automation, ideally using Python or similar scripting tools
  • Participate in design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of design and validation processes

Your profile

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout principles, and component selection
  • Experience in schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or similar)
  • Solid experience in power electronics
  • Knowledge about EMC and experience with best practices
  • Comfortable with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal analyzers)
  • Hands-on attitude - you enjoy building, testing, and iterating quickly
  • Basic programming experience in Python (or willingness to learn) for test automation and data analysis
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines

Nice to Have:

  • Touchpoints with EMC measurement and debugging
  • Experience with design-for-manufacturing (DFM) or end-of-line testing
  • Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware basics
  • Experience working in an agile or R&D-heavy startup environment

What you’ll love about working with us:

  • Agile, open & innovation-driven culture with flat hierarchies, quick decision-making processes and real ownership
  • Company pension scheme to support you plan for the future
  • Flexible working hours, a hybrid work model, and the option to work remotely from abroad
  • Digital meal vouchers with Circula Lunch - enjoy tasty lunches on us!
  • Monthly benefit in kind to spend at your favourite stores
  • Corporate benefits portal with exclusive employee discounts
  • Regular team-building activities and team events
  • Company EGYM Wellpass membership to train with no limits at numerous fitness clubs across Germany Ready to innovate, impact, and inspire? Apply Now!

We’d love to hear from you to help us build the energy system of the future! Even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage you to apply anyway. Our motto is 'Hire for attitude, train for skills', so we value potential and lifelong learning just as much as experience.
